Strategic Management

This section is a work in progress – as at October 2020. This is the same as with the sections on (i) finance and accounting (ii) marketing (iii) hospitality and tourism (iv) HR and (v) Entrepreneurial studies.

Whilst this section is headed “strategic management” there is information that will be of interest and use in the aforementioned sections also.
The information presented below is written to be concurrent with the date the case was written (early 2019) and is to be analysed and evaluated through that lens.

There is another section on this web site headed “Covid-19 Response” which provides information on what and how the business managed its way through the Coronavirus / Covid-19 pandemic from January 2020 through to xxxxxx. This is a further section which provides a rich source of information for study and activity and covers all aspects of management (strategy, HR, finance, tourism/hospitality, etc).

There are various Powerpoint slides uploaded on these pages (with recorded narration) which provide the equivalent of what would be covered in a face to face lecture room presentation (without the interaction!). Some of these are also available in Chinese and Russian.

In the sections below, no one video is longer than 4 minutes, most are around 2 minutes long.

This section on strategic management is currently structured around 3 sections. Each section has a set of activities.

A. Introduction to the business
C. Growing and developing the business.
