Boris Johnston, UK Prime Minister, addresses the nation to announce that the whole of the UK will immediately go into lockdown.

Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister for Scotland, made an announcement on the immediate lockdown being imposed  that day (ie 23rd March 2020).   This followed from the Government announcement by the Prime Minister as above. · Immediate action to close down and make secure all premises/buildings

 

· Immediate action to advise all staff of the position.

 

· Immediate action to support those staff who normally live on-site

 

· Application for Government Covid loans and difficulties with bank process

· Application for a claim against business continuity insurance

 

· Furlough of all staff except two (two Directors) at the start of the Government scheme.

 

· Beginning of limited home deliveries of food for locals via online service

 

· Beginning of limited take-away service – planned for two nights a week, different menu each time (fish and chips, Indian, pizzas)

 

 

 

Between 6th and 10th April Sandy himself fell ill with Covid related symptoms (no testing was available at this time so it is not known for certain if Covid-19). However he was confined to bed and attempting to run his business from his sick bed.
